Federal Road B318 near Warngau

Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Construction

The federal road B318 connects the motorway A8 near Holzkirchen and the B307 near Rottach-Egern. The road is an important traffic connection to Munich and provides access the recreational area of the Tegernsee. The connection to the B307 also creates an additional link to Austria and the Alp region.

The B318 crosses the city of Warngau where it is lowered by 6.0m within a length of 900m. In this area the road MB19 will be crossing the B318 on a combined viaduct for large and small wildlife. Noise cancelling covers will be used to provide further reduction of traffic related impacts on the surrounding.

The consulting office GRASSL was responsible for the design and tendering of all related structures in the course of the lowered road section. During construction GRASSL engineers will be providing supervision and construction management services.

On September 2nd 2016, Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt and Deputy Minister-President of Bavaria Ilse Aigner initiated the groundbreaking ceremony.
