A7 roof at Stellingen
with parking and garden plots
On 13 July 2024, the A7 roof at Stellingen was inaugurated – a big step in Hamburg's noise protection measures. Even Hamburg's First Mayor, Dr Peter Tschentscher, was present! We had the opportunity to catch up with various project participants with which we had collaborated on this project, such as DEGES and BUNG Ingenieure AG.
The A7 roof at Stellingen is a noise protection measure required due to the extension of the A7, which includes the construction of the Schnelsen and Altona noise protection tunnels. The Schnelsen tunnel was completed some time ago, and the Altona tunnel is under construction.
GRASSL has been a major player in the construction of all three tunnels. We carried out the structural design of the A7 roof at Stellingen, developed the requirement specifications and boundary conditions for the roof design, designed the cantilever retaining walls and examined their influence on the structural behaviour of the tunnel. During the design and execution of the projects, we also participated in the safety and health coordination.
We are proud of our contribution to this successful project and are looking forward to the future use of the new park and garden plots, which are a great added value for the Stellingen residents. We would like to extend special thanks to the Elmsbüttel district administration and melchior + wittpohl Beratende Ingenieure PartmbB, with whom we collaborated closely.
