Bamberger Straße trough structure in Düsseldorf
Heavy traffic drives through for the first time
At 11.00 p.m. on 29 July, traffic drove through the new water-proof trough in the Bamberger Straße below the DB railway for the first time. Crane sections from the Konecranes company were transported towards the Rhine River by the Max Goll cargo and freight company. Despite the complex boundary conditions, the structure was able to be opened to heavy traffic on schedule. In the next few weeks, the remaining work should be completed and the structure opened to the general public. The trough structure with an overall length of 150 m has been installed beneath an existing railway overpass on the busy Düsseldorf-Cologne route.
GRASSL engineers have provided the planning and design services for work phases 1 to 6 for this construction in the state capital of Düsseldorf. The design was carried out using the BIM method.
