Construction progress at Dachauer Strasse in Munich
Moving 1,500 tonnes? No problem!
Last Friday, the so-called "Brille" was moved by 26 m to its final position on Dachauer Strasse. Trains are running again after less than a week of track closure. In this time, work did not stop: the existing structure was demolished, the new construction was positioned, and the tracks were first removed and then re-laid. Construction will continue until late 2026.
The frame will be completed, and a waterproof trough connected so that pedestrians can cross below the train tracks without getting their feet wet. Peek over the building site fence and judge the progress for yourself!
