Progress at the Güsen railway overpass project

We have just completed an exciting milestone

The first track closure has been concluded successfully. In just two weeks, the deep foundation of the abutments, the construction pit walls and the auxiliary bridges were built – a big challenge which was mastered skilfully by the team of the construction firms.

Project leader Jörg Seifried considers the single-track railway bridge an impressive construction due mainly to its span of 102 m, in which longitudinal forces and displacements of the superstructure are transferred to the abutments by a steel rod.

What are the next steps?

After the successful installation of the auxiliary bridge, it is now time to build the abutments underneath. Afterwards, the tracks will be closed again to allow the superstructure to be moved into its final location.
