Presentation of monitoring projects

With the advance of digitalisation, new areas of application are increasingly emerging for the metrological, sensor-supported monitoring of structures. Structural monitoring, for example, creates new possibilities for the preservation of aged built infrastructure by recording real structural actions and reactions.

Structural assessment can be supported and supplemented by measurement technology. In a user report in the 07/2022 issue of Bautechnik (Ernst&Sohn), we present selected monitoring projects. The projects show how the remaining service life of steel bridges can be extended through monitoring, how to successfully execute the tendering for the monitoring of an inner-city tunnel structure, and how structural health monitoring of a complex new building is taken into account in the planning phase.
