Description
Due to stress corrosion cracking in the prestressing steel, the Kreuzhof bridges in Munich require complete replacement. Structure 40/45, which currently consists of two substructures, carries the A95 and B2R over Fürstenrieder and Boschetsrieder Straße. As part of the reconstruction, three new substructures will be built: BW 40/45 A: carries the on-ramp towards Garmisch BW 40/45 B: carries the main carriageway towards Garmisch BW 40/45 C: carries the carriageway towards Munich Structure 40/46 carries the turning lane from Garmisch over Boschetsrieder Straße, connecting northbound to Fürstenrieder Straße. It will be replaced with a new structure similar to the existing one. Once the replacement is complete, the Westtangente tram line will be able to pass underneath the new bridges. All necessary equipment and infrastructure for this will be integrated directly into the new construction. To ensure traffic flow during the construction phase, two temporary bridges will be installed: A northern temporary bridge for the on-ramp towards Garmisch A southern temporary bridge for the off-ramp and the carriageway towards Munich
