Description

The Tatenberger Bridge carries Tatenberger Weg over the Dove Elbe in the eastern area of the Tatenberg Lock in Hamburg-Bergedorf. Due to insufficient structural warning behaviour combined with prestressing steel susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking, the bridge must be replaced. The existing abutments of the bridge are part of the lock structure and therefore must be preserved. The new bridge is being constructed behind the existing one as a deep-founded, integral frame in composite construction. Because the frame deforms differently in summer and winter positions, interactions occur between the new bridge and the existing abutments, which had to be taken into account during planning. Traffic on Tatenberger Weg must be maintained throughout the entire construction period. For this reason, a temporary bypass is being built parallel to the new bridge. The ramps of the bypass are founded on sheet-pile walls installed with low-vibration pressing methods. The temporary bridge, designed as a standard modular bridge, is deep-founded on bored piles. For the retaining walls extending from the bridge, which support the lock gate, an OSA was prepared, recalculations were carried out, and refurbishment measures were planned.
