Gottleuba viaduct in Pirna

Successful execution of the second launching stage

In June, the second stage of the longitudinal launching of the Gottleuba viaduct in Pirna was executed successfully. The steel superstructure was shifted by over 92 m (the entire span length) from the pier in axis 90 to the pier in axis 80.

After the launching nose had been inserted between the lateral guiding structures, the launching process across the remaining 58 m to the next parking position was continued.
The superstructure is now fixed in this position until preparations for the next launching stage (completion of the pile cap in axis 70 including the installation of the auxiliary structures and the welding of superstructure sections 10 to 14) have been completed.

The Gottleuba viaduct will form part of a new bypass for Pirna, in order to relieve the inner city of through traffic.

The closely collaborating checking engineers Weischedel and Seiler are responsible for the structural checking of the construction project including all auxiliary structures and for the on-site acceptance of the relevant scaffolding.
