The A3 motorway crosses Germany from the Dutch to the Austrian border. This European west–south connection has six traffic lanes. GRASSL designed the beginning of the new motorway section at the Fürth–Erlangen interchange – sustainably and innovatively.

Traditionally delicate meets robust. The innovative union of arch and truss bridge allows the design of an extremely shallow span straddling the approximately 70 m wide motorway without any intermediate supports. The structure exudes elegance from all angles due to the acrylic glass panels in the railings, a soffit with an exceptional design and steel panels that refract the light. Discretion meets intelligence: linear drainage and a conscious decision to forego wear parts significantly improve the durability of this extraordinary structure.
