A double YES to Regnitz Bridge and Manching!

We are very happy about the outcome of the two referendums: a double YES to the Stadt-Umland-Bahn tramway in Erlangen and to the second bridge over the Paar River in Manching!

At the Project Days on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 June, knowledge was shared through presentations and workshops, and interesting insights into the work of colleagues of other offices and into other topics were gained.

On 14 May 2024, our Düsseldorf colleagues, Maria Schartner, M.Eng., and Isabel Thelen, M.Sc., held a presentation on the Theodor Heuss Bridge at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of RWTH University in Aachen.

THW-Ortsverbands Kirchheim

On 17 May, we set out full of anticipation, despite the inclement weather, because we accepted an exciting new construction project: the current building of the THW local section Kirchheim.

High-flying team adventure

On 24 May, we visited the highest German railway bridge: the Müngsten Bridge at Solingen. We started from the valley and made our way through the bridge arch to the top and back again.

We are happy to report that the GRASSL team will gain additional expertise from within its ranks: Dr Daniel Wingenfeld of our Munich office has been certified by the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) as checking expert for railways.

46 years of knowledge

Farewell for Rainer Lange

Last Friday, at the Hafen-Klub Hamburg, we celebrated the farewell of Rainer Lange, who worked as a structural drafter in our Hamburg office for 46 years.

 

 

 

OPEN FORUM

24th general meeting

On 18 April 2024, our managing partner, Martin Grassl, took part in the 24th general meeting 2024 of Bundesstiftung Baukultur, which included the Offenes Forum Baukultur in Berlin.

Structural inspection

Schnelsen tunnels on the A7

In the second half of April, eight inspectors of our structure management team carried out night-time structural inspections around the Schnelsen tunnel on the A7.

Another milestone has been reached in the Ludwigslust train station tunnel project. Our Hamburg and Berlin colleagues were able to observe live the moving of an important segment of the tunnel, tracks and auxiliary bridges.
