On 8 May 2024, we were at the Hamburger Bautag (Hamburg Construction Day) at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and talked with students about the future of the construction industry.

We are happy to report that the GRASSL team will gain additional expertise from within its ranks: Dr Daniel Wingenfeld of our Munich office has been certified by the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) as checking expert for railways.

Last Friday, at the Hafen-Klub Hamburg, we celebrated the farewell of Rainer Lange, who worked as a structural drafter in our Hamburg office for 46 years.

On 18 April 2024, our managing partner, Martin Grassl, took part in the 24th general meeting 2024 of Bundesstiftung Baukultur, which included the Offenes Forum Baukultur in Berlin.

In the second half of April, eight inspectors of our structure management team carried out night-time structural inspections around the Schnelsen tunnel on the A7.

Another milestone has been reached in the Ludwigslust train station tunnel project. Our Hamburg and Berlin colleagues were able to observe live the moving of an important segment of the tunnel, tracks and auxiliary bridges.

On 18 March 2024, the rehabilitation works on the Franz Josef Strauss Bridge over the Danube River in Passau started according to schedule. The challenge: the general rehabilitation of the steel arch bridge under traffic within just one year.

This year too, Dipl.-Ing. Martin Grassl, moderated the VSVI seminar at the Catholic Academy in Hamburg and put together a high-quality program on current topics relating to road construction and transport.
